Since Kipp & Zonen B.V. joined the OTT HydroMet in January 2018, it has become the sister company of G. Lufft Mess- und Regeltechnik GmbH. There is a strong relationship between both of these product brands; at sites where solar radiation is measured, other environmental and meteorological monitoring is required such as ambient temperature, precipitation and wind strength, as they also can affect the output of solar energy plants.

There are countless situations where you can observe one or more Kipp & Zonen pyranometers installed with a Lufft all-in-one weather sensor nearby. Lufft took this to the next level in 2012 by developing versions of their smart weather sensor family that included a Kipp & Zonen CMP3 ISO 9060:1990 Second Class pyranometer mounted on the top. In 2015, models with the CMP10 Secondary Standard instrument were introduced for higher accuracy.

In the following, you find some of our most interesting solar monitoring projects.
