All stations are available with real-time communications. The stations can be equipped with Satellite (GOES, EUMETSAT, or other), Iridium, Cellular or any other communications options as necessary for your next project.
Our customized Automatic Weather Stations are equipped with a wide array of components. All stations use state-of-the art dataloggers with latest communications technology and are 100% customized to meet the local conditions. Some of the most important features include –
Tipping Bucket Rain Gauge
This Stainless Steel Tipping Bucket Rain Gage is used to measure rainfall volume.
Features:
Temperature and Relative Humidity (TRH) Sensor
The compact, long-term stability weather sensor OTT TRH is responsible for the measurement of relative humidity and temperature. In addition it can calculate the values for absolute humidity, dew point and mixing ratio and output these via the SDI-12 interface. A protective cap prevents dust and dirt from entering the sensor system. The included protective housing provides weather and radiation protection.
Features:
OTT TR2O Sensor
OTT RS7 Weather and Radiation Protection
WS200-UMB Smart Weather Sensor
From the WS product family of professional intelligent measurement transducers with digital interface for environmental applications for measuring wind direction and speed. One external temperature or rain sensor is connectable.
Features:
Barometer
The 5600-0120-3 ACCUBAR® Pressure Sensor is a solid-state pressure transducer suitable for data collection and monitoring applications. The unit comes configured from the factory at SDI-12 address 0 and ready to make barometric pressure readings in mB (hPa). Just issue the basic SDI-12 start measurement command “M” to address 0 (0M!) and the unit will initiate a reading of the barometric pressure. Get the data back with a “D0” command (0D0!) (done automatically by most data recorders when they are measuring) and the unit will return the barometric pressure plus a units indicator number.
The ACCUBAR® sensor has been designed with the following features to operate in a wide range of applications:
Features:
Solar Radiation Sensors
CMP3 Pyranometer
The CMP3 pyranometer is an instrument for measuring the solar irradiance. The thermopile sensor construction measures the solar energy that is received from the total solar spectrum and the whole hemisphere (180 degrees field of view). The output is expressed in Watts per meter square. The CMP3 pyranometer is designed for continuous indoor and outdoor use.
The CMP3 pyranometer (ISO 9060 spectrally flat Class C) is intended for shortwave global solar radiation measurements in the spectral range from 300 to 2800 nm. The thermopile detector measures irradiance up to 2000 W/m² with response time <20 seconds and sensitivity that varies less than 4 % from -10 ºC to +40 ºC.
Operating temperature range is -40 ºC to +80 ºC and the stability is better than 1 % per year.
The CMP3 pyranometer features a snap-on white sun shield, integrated leveling and a weatherproof connector which is supplied pre-wired with 10 m of signal cable for simple installation. An optional mounting rod and longer cable lengths are available. Two CMP 3s can easily be mounted back-to-back to make a low-cost albedometer.
The Pyranometer does not require any power, it supplies a low voltage of 0 to 20mV in relation to the amount of incoming radiation. When a higher voltage level or a 4 to 20mA signal is required, the AMPBOX is the perfect solution.
CNR4 Net Radiometer
The CNR4 net radiometer measures the energy balance between incoming short-wave and long-wave Far Infrared (FIR) radiation versus surface-reflected short-wave and outgoing long-wave radiation.
The CNR4 net radiometer consists of a pyranometer pair, one facing upward, the other facing downward, and a pyrgeometer pair in a similar configuration. The pyranometer pair measures the short-wave radiation. And the pyrgeometer pair measures long-wave radiation. The upper long-wave detector of CNR4 has a meniscus dome. This ensures that water droplets role off easily and improves the field of view to nearly 180°, compared with a 150° for a flat window. All 4 sensors are integrated directly into the instrument body, instead of separate modules mounted onto the housing. But are each calibrated individually for optimal accuracy.
Two temperature sensors, a Pt-100 and Thermistor, are integrated for compatibility with every data logger. The temperature sensor is used to provide information to correct the infrared readings for the temperature of the instrument housing. Care has been taken to place the long-wave sensors close to each other and close to the temperature sensors. This assures that the temperatures of the measurement surfaces are the same and accurately known. Which improves the quality of the long-wave measurements.
The design is very light in weight and has an integrated sun shield that reduces thermal effects on both long-wave and short-wave measurements. The cables are yellow with waterproof connectors as used with all our new radiometers. The mounting rod can be unscrewed for transport.
An optional CNF4 ventilation unit with heater is designed as an extension of the sunshield and can be fitted new to the CNR4 or retro-fitted later. This unit is compact and provides efficient air-flow over the domes and windows to minimize the formation of dew and reduce the frequency of cleaning. The integrated heater can be used to melt frost.
SP Lite2 Pyranometer
SP Lite2 is designed for routine measurement of solar radiation.
It is especially designed for Photovoltaic / solar energy module monitoring.
SP Lite2 can be used under all weather conditions. The sensor measures the solar energy received from the entire hemisphere. It is ideal for measuring available energy for use in solar energy applications, plant growth, thermal convection and evapotranspiration.
SP Lite2 uses a photodiode detector, which creates a voltage output that is proportional to the incoming radiation. Also due to the unique design of the diffuser, its sensitivity is proportional to the cosine of the angle of incidence of the incoming radiation, allowing for accurate and consistent measurements.
SP Lite2 is easy to use. It can be directly connected to voltmeter or data logger. Direct readout in Watts per square meter (W/m²) can be derived from the measured voltage divided by the calibration coefficient. It is fitted with the Kipp & Zonen high quality yellow cable.
SP Lite2 features adjustment screws and a bubble level integrated in the mounting flange for your convenience. A threaded hole in the body of the housing takes our accessory screw-in mounting rod. Two instruments can easily be bolted back-to-back amd fitted with a mounting rod to make a simple albedometer.
Evaporation Gauge
The gauge is intended for use with a National Weather Service, class A pan. The instrument consists of a float, chain, and counterweight attached to a precision 1000-ohm potentiometer mounted through a sprocket assembly in a weatherproof housing. The triangular base plate is equipped with three leveling screws and a bubble level indicator. The potentiometer produces a resistance output proportional to the position of the float which can be monitored on site using a data logger or monitored remotely by telemetry equipment.
