This panel brings together global experts to spotlight Project Wayra, a pioneering atmospheric monitoring initiative on Aconcagua, led by Argentina and the United States in collaboration with institutions such as IANIGLA, King’s College London, and the University of Nevada, Reno. The session will also explore how the Global Cryosphere Watch and the Standardization of First-mile Data Collection can be leveraged to advance global efforts to unify and scale cryospheric data collection.

In this short presentation, Adrian Crawford will focus on sustainability and the circular economy, particularly in relation to product development and design environments. He will outline how these concepts are being implemented together with the use of algorithmic intelligence, Industry 4.0, smart products, and connectivity. The industry is a at a crucial turning point as to how monitoring equipment will be manufactured and incorporating AI into the technology – a compelling presentation for the audience to understand what the future of our industry will look like.

All-In-One Weather Stations (AiO) are compact units that integrate multiple sensors for automated, multiparameter measurements – offering faster setup and lower maintenance than traditional Automated Weather Stations (AWS). Ideal for agriculture, environmental monitoring, and research, AiO systems like the Lufft WS family feature fan-aspirated temperature and humidity sensors, Kipp & Zonen pyranometers, advanced wind and precipitation detection, and radar-based technology.
With WMO-compliant wind measurements, SYNOP code support, and improved diagnostics, ongoing development aims to bridge the gap between AiO and AWS – enhancing sensor quality, connectivity, and overall performance.
