OTT Current Meter

Albert OTT, founder of OTT and a skilled instrument maker, established his business in Bavaria in 1880, later joined by his sons. This OTT instrument, the current meter, dating back to 1917, bears their monogram and the signature of Keuffel & Esser, the U.S. importer. Transferred to the Smithsonian in 1959 by the National Bureau of Standards.

Commitment to Precision

In 1922, the OTT company was the first non-governmental institution to establish its own rating and calibration tank for hydrology instruments. This groundbreaking development showcased their pioneering spirit and commitment to precision in hydrological measurements.

150 YEARS OF LEADERSHIP

The importance of principled leadership – from founder Albert Ott to the many dynamic leaders that have served as drivers in our industry and championed thought leadership – remains a key understanding that is rooted within the OTT brand.
